Hitachi Storage at Work Case Study: SEB
Overview SEB is a major Nordic banking and finance group. In autumn 2001, SEB IT Service in Sweden received an inquiry from SEB in Germany asking whether consolidation of the mainframe operations in both countries would lead to any significant cost-saving. A complete review showed that substantial savings could be made by transferring the mainframe operations from Frankfurt to Stockholm. Hitachi Data Systems was selected for the task of transferring the data storage. SEB is also impressed by Hitachi's TrueCopy software, which uses a mirroring process to transfer critical data between storage units.
