Hitachi Storage at Work Case Study: Proximus
Overview Established 1st January 1994, Proximus, a subsidiary of Belgacom, was the first mobile telephone operator in Belgium. In 2000, Proximus decided to invest in a mirror systems configuration, which would be based in a separate geographical location. Not only did they appreciate the advanced technology and unparalleled performance of the Lightning 9960, but also found that it didn't really have any competition as regards price/quality ratio and so they ordered seven Hitachi Lightning 9960s to bring the total capacity of storage to 85 terabytes.
