Messaging Server Consolidation Results in Company Merger Efficiencies for HP
Overview When HP merged with Compaq, HP's IT group needed to swiftly integrate HP's 100,000 mailboxes with the 90,000 Compaq mailboxes. This was a challenge because HP was running Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 and Compaq was running Exchange 2000 Server. The resulting, combined e-mail system, encompassing employees as well as contract workers, vendors, partners, and other members of the HP community, would support about 250,000 e-mail users and is believed to be one of the largest Exchange Server deployments in existence. Download this case study to learn how HP's IT team succeeded in integrating the HP and Compaq infrastructures by deploying Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition running on the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition operating system.
