Just 90 Days From Project Start to Production, Planar Develops New, Easy-to-Use Touchscreen Display to Retrofit Automated Ticketing Systems

Overview With subway traffic increasing and passenger lines backing up due to cumbersome ticketing systems, this major metropolitan underground transportation system needed to speed things up. The transportation company turned to its ticketing system developer and Planar, the developer's long-term display system partner, for help. The previous system included multiple sets of buttons to choose destinations and fares. Knowing Planar had developed similar systems in the past, the system developers knew Planar could solve the problem and do it within the tight 90-day design window. Planar created a custom display system and electronic interface that drops into the existing ticketing system housing for easy retrofit.
