Overview The development of the SmartStreet kiosk inspired home-video distribution company, Plaza Entertainment, to approach Objectsoft about the development of a kiosk for video stores. Statistics from 1998 show that there are 65,000 video stores in the United States and another 10,000 in Canada-the majority of which do not provide technology or product information to their customers. Plaza Entertainment wanted Objectsoft to develop a kiosk that could show movie trailers and allow customers to conduct research on film names, directors, actors, and so on right in the video store.
