Overview Long & Foster Companies is one of the largest independently owned residential real estate companies in the United States, with more than 200 sales offices and 11,600 sales associates in the seven-state Mid-Atlantic region. During the past several years, the company has had to deal with dramatic changes in the real estate business. To replace a hodgepodge of legacy equipment with standardized systems and support a changing business model and rapid company growth, Long & Foster built its datacenter on Dell. In the data center and local offices, Long & Foster deployed DellTM servers, including PowerEdgeTM 1650, 1750, 2650, and 6650 servers as well as PowerEdge 1655MC blade server systems; replaced all legacy desktops at headquarters and local offices with Dell OptiPlexTM GX and SX series desktops; and the company recommends Dell LatitudeTM notebooks to agents. Long & Foster has greatly improved ability to provide quality customer service and ensure that agents have the latest information with an aesthetic, up-to-date image that helps company recruit agents.
