SuperClubs International

Overview SuperClubs International is a 27-year-old resort company operating mainly in the Caribbean Islands and Latin America. Each of the company’s quality resorts in Jamaica, Curacao, the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, and Brazil is individually tailored to cater to the needs of different markets, but all use the company’s signature all-inclusive payment method, which simplifies vacation logistics for customers. In the recent past, SuperClubs focused on making its IT architecture as straightforward as its vacation payment method. The challenge for SuperClubs: replace obsolete accounting and materials management applications; centralize back-office accounting functions; automate the transfer of data between systems; select a hardware vendor that offers cost-effective, reliable equipment and excellent support; and simplify existing many-to-many accounting paradigm to reduce complexity. SuperClubs worked with Dell to implement a fully redundant, load-balanced Dell/EMC Fibre Channel storage unit; deploy SAP software on a server cluster running the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server operating system; and back up data on a Dell PowerVault 122T LTO tape library. As a result, SuperClubs sees: improved IT manageability through centralized accounting and back-office functions; minimal data entry saves time and reduces errors; a global view of corporate operations; reduced total cost of ownership (TCO); improved IT productivity; increased data security; streamlined accounting efforts; and improved customer experience.
