Atos Origin
Overview The Netherlands-based company Atos Origin is a leading business and technology integrator that designs, builds and operates integrated IT solutions globally. It has annual revenues of [EURO] 3bn and employs 28,000 people in 30 countries. Clients include BP, Shell, Philips, L'Oreal, Philip Morris, Fiat, Royal Bank of Scotland, Unilever and Vodafone. Its mission statement is 'Turning client vision into results' and its continued success depends on being able to adequately demonstrate the potential of solutions for businesses. The infrastructure supporting Atos Orgin's SAP Technology Competence Centre (TCC) was made up of two storage area networks (SANs) coupled together. But this was based on old hardware that was end of life and no longer supported. In order to be able to add new solutions and deliver high performance for consultants to demonstrate SAP capabilities, Atos Origin worked with DellTM to create a new SAN infrastructure called Framework III using a Dell/EMCTM CX400, Dell PowerEdgeTM Servers and Gold level support. Results for Atos Origin are scalability and high performance, easier management, a foundation for at least the next three years, reduced costs and infrastructure consolidation.
