Cisco Helps the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Integrate E-Learning and an Employee Portal Into a New, OPEN Corporate Culture

Overview One of the major commercial banking organizations in Japan is The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd. (BTM), which provides a broad range of domestic and international banking services from its offices in Japan and around the world. BTM decided to create a corporate-wide e-learning infrastructure that included a learning management system (LMS), online testing, multimedia capability, video conferencing, and the capability for employees to access information from outside the office. This was launched in October 2003 and rolled out to the entire BTM global organization by the end of fiscal 2003. Although still in the early stages of implementation, the initial benefit from the e-learning solution alone is estimated at approximately US$15 million.
