Customizing UML for the Development of Distributed Reactive Systems and Code Generation to Ada 95

Overview Distributed, reactive software systems, e.g. process control tools, can be modelled with the Unified Modelling Language (UML). Recently such UML models are used to generate source code automatically. Because of the complexity of UML, it is necessary to restrict the usage of its constructs by defining UML profiles to allow the automatic generation of source code. In this paper a UML profile for the design and implementation of distributed, reactive systems and an associated mapping to Ada 95 source code are introduced.
