Case Study: eLearning HIPAA Overview
Overview John Muir Mt. Diablo Health System is a premier healthcare provider in the San Francisco Bay Area. Areas of specialty include obstetrics, orthopedics, neurosciences, cardiac care, general surgery and cancer care. In 1996, congress passed the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA). TechProse developed an eLearning HIPAA overview to educate a broad spectrum of health care providers on the basic principles of HIPAA, and the work practices required to conform to the legislation. Designed as a CD-ROM, this standalone eLearning application allowed individual administrators, hospital personnel, physicians, and others to login, complete a series of interactive modules, and record their successful completion of the practice exercises, demonstrating due diligence in HIPAA education.
