IBM Rational Software Development Platform Helps US Capitol Police Evaluate COTS Packages
Overview Frank Armour, President of ArmourIT, LLC, is serving as Consulting Enterprise Architect for Requirements and Modeling on a large enterprise architecture project for the US Capitol Police. Armour notes that on this project, like many government projects, effective execution of the RFP process is a critical success factor. Armour is using the IBM Rational software development platform, including IBM Rational Rose, to evaluate COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) solutions. By building thorough models in Rational Rose, Armour is better able to assess proposals, generate accurate schedule and cost estimates, and ensure stakeholder needs are fully met by any potential solution.
