Boscov's Department Store Saves Money and Improves Customer Service by Updating Point-of-Sale System With Cisco Long-Reach Ethernet Solution

Overview Established in 1911, Boscov's is the largest family-owned department store chain in the United States. Although the existing point-of-sale systems were familiar to cashiers and IT professionals, the network infrastructure that supported them could not support the additional features that the company wanted to deploy. Boscov's began updating its store networks with a solution based on Cisco Long-Reach Ethernet (LRE) technology. LRE enables organizations to extend Ethernet over long distances using existing phone and legacy wiring.
