USMTMC Overhauls Small Package Shipping With SunPS

Overview The U.S. Army Military Traffic Management Command (MTMC) provides global surface transportation services to meet national security objectives. Its Freight Systems Division (FSD) is responsible for supporting the procurement of commercial freight transportation services for the Department of Defense. Using Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition Technology, Sun Professional Services developed an e-commerce and EDI Global Freight Management (GFM) system. GFM supports the procurement and logistic efforts of more than 3,000 traffic managers in 800 FSD locations across the country.
