Siebel Systems: A Model of Customer Responsiveness and Satisfaction Using Intel Processor-Based Servers and PCs

Overview After September 11, 2001, Siebel Systems' IT department was tasked with disaster-hardening its data center. The goal: cost-effective IT infrastructure that could safeguard the company's critical data, scale to accommodate business growth, and remain fully operational under any circumstances. In addition, Siebel Systems' 5000+ employees needed more performance on their desktops and notebooks to run new software and respond to customers without delay. Within 12 months, Siebel's IT staff redesigned and relocated the corporate data center, creating a redundant, highly available facility based on 4-way Intel Xeon processor-based MP servers.
