Cisco and IBM Case Study: St John's University
Overview In the mid-1990s, St. John's increased its national recruitment efforts. Having made the decision to invest for future growth, the Board of Trustees agreed upon a series of strategic tactics. One unanimous decision was to make the best possible use of technology. St. John's considered several laptop vendors and selected Cisco Global Strategic Alliance partner IBM based on the quality of its ThinkPad laptop computers, its on-site technical support center and training services, and its faculty professional development program - all of the components that comprise the IBM ThinkPad University integrated solution. The IBM ThinkPad University Program allows students and faculty to access and share information in near realtime, virtually anytime, anywhere.
