SCO UNIX and Vintela Authentication From SCO Combine for Efficiency
Overview In 1999, GDF began reviewing its own internal organization and developed a strategic plan to more fully utilize the latest technologies in improving GDF’s overall efficiency and effectiveness. As part of this initiative, GDF focused on redesigning how the organization would authenticate and manage user identities in their mixed Windows and UNIX environment. Overall, GDF wanted to migrate to a new, more effective and efficient architecture. GDF turned to SCO, a leading provider of business software solutions, to help them create a new UNIX-based architecture that would provide the efficiencies and reliability that GDF needed. SCO provided the technology and support to help GDF move away from an IBM AIX system to a new architecture that would utilize SCO UnixWare and easily integrate with Microsoft Active Directory.
