Leveraging Commercial Wireless Technology for Interoperable Public Safety Communications

Overview Lucent Technologies is working with a number of agencies on pilot projects to demonstrate the applicability of its CDMA-based, 3G wireless solutions for public safety and other homeland security functions. They believe that the pilot programs will demonstrate that 3G commercial solutions provide immediate enhancement of the nation?s public safety and homeland security forces, at considerably less cost than is available with today?s legacy systems.
