RFID in Manufacturing at Volvo Powertrain

Overview From raw casting through the assembly process, Volvo implemented RFID to track and process 30,000 engines per year. By integrating RFID read/write technology with their PLCs, torque tools and inspection stations, Volvo increased visibility and improved productivity throughout their production line. The new system enabled their new Poke Yoke (mistake free) assembly process to reduce errors and increase profits. The session will outline this live application and provide an insight into how and when RFID can work for you.
