Performance Evaluation of IEEE 802.16 for Broadband Wireless Access

Overview Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) is drawing a great deal of interest from the engineering and research communities. The IEEE 802.16 task group is in the process of standardizing the physical (PHY) and media-access control (MAC) layers of BWA systems. The proposed MAC supports a range of physical layer technologies and provides manufacturers with the option of switching modulation and coding schemes based on the channel conditions.
