Overview This paper discusses Bluetooth, which is a connectivity solution based on a low-cost, short-range radio transceiver. Bluetooth operates in the globally available ISM band at 2.4 GHz and is usable worldwide. Its operating range is 10-100 metres, and the connected devices do not need to be within line of sight. Bluetooth is an open standard supported by leading companies in the telecommunications and computer industries, so it is set to be a fast-growing technology soon to be in millions of mobile phones, laptops, printers, cameras and other devices.
