NetMotion Mobility: A VPN Solution for GPRS Networks

Overview GPRS is a wide area wireless network that offers packet mode services over a wireless (cellular) interface. It supports applications based on standard protocols (IP, PPP, and X.25) and works in conjunction with external packet data networks, which is why it is so widely deployed: it?s a wireless extension to "fixed wire" data networks. This paper outlines the advantages of deploying NetMotion Mobility software in a GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) environment: end-to-end security, roaming (to a new point of attachment, or to a different network), link optimizations, and transparency.
