Overview At Pepsi-Cola in Michigan, inventory logistics are automated with suggested production and distribution schedules using sales forecasts and inventory data from 18 plants and warehouses. Recognizing the need for increased inventory accuracy, Pepsi chose to implement Intermec?s Norand 6100 hand-held computers with CIMSPAD, a software product from Great Lakes Software of Michigan, Incorporated, a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) in Howell. In particular, the 6100 and 6110 models combine ruggedness with a light weight, easy screen readability, long battery life and important integrated features such as bar code scanning and RF capabilities.
