Kraft Chooses RF to Track Finished Goods and Products Within Distribution Centers in Canada

Overview Kraft has been a household word for decades. The company sells its products in virtually every grocery store, supermarket, convenience store and many discount stores across North America. Five years ago Kraft Canada made a commitment to implementing new technology to automate its manufacturing plants and distribution centers. After a rigorous selection process, Kraft chose an Intermec RF data collection system and warehouse management software. The system consists of 65 Intermec forklift-mounted 902 MHz spread spectrum data terminals and ten Intermec mobile data terminals with integrated bar code scanners; access points and hubs. The network uses a 5250 emulation that runs off an AS/400 mid-range host computer.
