Overview This paper talks about Composite applications, which allows companies extract more value from their traditional enterprise applications. Using composite applications, companies can extract additional value from traditional enterprise applications by applying data and functionality in completely new contexts. With Web services as building blocks and Enterprise Services Architecture as a master plan, application designers can use components powered by existing enterprise applications to assemble composite applications and extend the reach of underlying applications to every part of a company. The composite-application framework (CAF) in SAP NetWeaver provides the new development environment required for this innovative application paradigm.
