Global Technology Integrator Increases Security With New Firewall Solution

Overview Avanade, a global technology integrator for Microsoft enterprise solutions, faced a computer network challenge. The company wanted to simultaneously increase remote user access and security. To solve the problem, Avanade selected Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 as its firewall, virtual private network (VPN), and Web cache solution. As a result, the company has extended access to 20 percent more geographical locations around the world and decreased local Web traffic by 25 percent, thus saving on bandwidth. Avanade has also configured multiple networks that help provide top-level, unique security with stateful packet filtering for each network.
