Overview This paper documents Palm OS databases, how memory is managed in Palm OS, and shows how Palm OS applications can use the Virtual File System to access files on expansion media. The paper also contains conceptual and ?how to? information on the Palm OS memory system; the Data Manager, file streaming, and the VFS Manager. The Data Manger manages databases used to contain both programs and data. File streaming presents another way to access the contents of large ?classic? Palm OS databases.
