Deploying Windows XP Tablet PC Edition: Single-Image Deployment Supplemental Information

Overview When Windows XP Tablet PC Edition was first released, enterprise administrators and IT professionals were required to deploy Windows XP Tablet PC Edition to Tablet PC computers using a separate image made from existing Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1 images. This limitation increases the total cost of ownership (TCO) for deploying Tablet PCs into enterprise environments. This paper discusses how to use the System Preparation Tool (Sysprep) to deploy Windows XP Tablet PC Edition using an existing Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 or later image, eliminating the need to manage separate images for Tablet PC and non-Tablet PC computers.
