Enhance Pocket PC Applications With Biometric Functionality

Overview Security of mobile devices is quickly becoming one of the primary concerns for deployment of enterprise applications and sensitive data on handheld platforms. Preventing unauthorized logon and access to data on mobile devices critical to the adoption of enterprise solutions, and biometrics is seen as one approach to improve the access restriction for these devices. Instead of using a PIN or password to access their device, users authenticate themselves using their fingerprint, which dramatically improves the level of security for local data. This session will cover the biometric APIs, which have been integrated into Visual Studio.NET, design of a sample application, and deployment on an iPAQ Pocket PC h5450 platform.
