Intel Architecture-Based Server Clustering and RAID Solution Solves Manufacturer’s Network Storage, Performance and High Availability Challenges

Overview In March 2002, a leading wind turbine manufacturer approached Maxdata to help the manufacturer reestablish and expand its North America data center. The wind turbine company, which is headquartered in Denmark, was preparing to open several manufacturing sites in the United States and Canada, and was moving its North American headquarters from Southern California to the Pacific Northwest. The company saw this move as an opportunity to expand its data center to accommodate future growth – growing from one current site with 200 employees to possibly seven facilities and 7,000 employees in the next 5-7 years. Maxdata’s solution for the wind turbine manufacturer was simple – and extremely effective. Maxdata provided a high-availability RAID and server cluster system that met all the company’s requirements.
