Sybase and Sun Microsystems Deliver Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise on Solaris OS X86 Platform Edition

Overview Sybase, Inc. and Sun Microsystems, Inc. announced the general availability of Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) on the Solaris Operating System (OS) x86 Platform Edition. Additionally, Sybase ASE 12.5.1, Developer Edition is now co-packaged with Solaris OS SPARC and x86 Platform Editions, enabling customers to develop applications and evaluate the advantages of Sybase?s enterprise-class relational database management system (RDBMS) on the Sun platform. The availability of Sybase ASE with the Solaris x86 platform provides users with security and services manageability, while offering a low-cost computing alternative.
