Developing a Software Component for Integrating Legacy Instruments With an Analyzer Complex

Overview The customer is a market leader in clinical diagnostic instruments. They have initiated a large-scale project to develop an integrated hematology analyzer complex. The analyzer complex implements state-of-the-art blood analysis and reporting techniques. A considerable segment of the projected customer-base was already using older versions of hematology instruments and was reluctant to purchase the new product if this meant rendering the existing instruments obsolete. The customer does not want to put away the older instruments into disuse. The strategy was to develop a software component, which would integrate the older/legacy instruments with the new complex one. The first phase was to completely understand both the legacy and the new system. It was initiated with the onsite visit of the Wipro engineers for 12 weeks.
