Robbins-Gioia Helps the U.S. Air Force Maintain Mission-Ready C-130 Fleet
Overview The United States Air Force maintains a fleet of more than 700 C-130 aircraft geographically distributed across the United States and the world. A critical component for transporting materials and personnel, the majority of C-130 aircraft are configured for a variety of missions, with approximately 20 different mission design series in operation. Maintaining this diverse fleet at peak efficiency and readiness was a monumental challenge, with many of the processes being performed by hand. In June 1988, the Air Force Logistics Command turned to Robbins-Gioia to address these issues. Using a combination of Robbins-Gioia’s Control and Analysis Tool (CAT), program management personnel, and structured business methods, an automated inventory management and tracking system was set up.
