Overview There are profound differences in architecture and system design that distinguish IBM eServer zSeries as a server for on demand Solutions. zSeries provides systems with autonomic capabilities that scale, multi-dimensional virtualization, a wide variety of open middleware and integrated solutions, and continued investment flexibility. Both z/OS and Linux for zSeries can help meet the objectives for this kind of workload and the decision of which environment to use should be based on considering requirements such as the security model needed; the degree of workload management needed; and the time pressures to deploy new instances or new workloads.
