Siemens Business Services Improves Portal Performance With Mercury Interactive Protune Delivery Service
Overview Siemens Business Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Siemens Group. To set up an online service, PRS CIO developed and implemented the Material Management Integrated Regional Offices (MIRO) application on top of the recently installed standard business management software SAP R/3. Linked to three R/3 modules - SD (Sales & Distribution), MM (Materials Management), and BW (Business Warehouse) - the application maps the entire logistical chain for spares onto end-to-end electronic business processes and makes these available in a Web-based portal. This enables Siemens’ various sites and departments - and external PRS CIO customers - to order spares, report returns, or commission repairs over the Internet. They can do this around-the-clock, quickly, efficiently, and more conveniently than ever before.
