Macromedia Case Study: University of Wisconsin

Overview In 2000, the University of Wisconsin System and the Wisconsin Technical College System joined together to sponsor and host the Academic ADL (Advanced Distributed Learning) Co-Lab in Madison, Wisconsin. The Academic ADL Co-Lab is one of three ADL Co-Labs founded to advance the US Department of Defense's 1997 ADL Initiative, much of the Co-Lab network's efforts center on the SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model), a set of specifications for exchanging learning content and results of learning sessions between and among learning management systems. Macromedia products such as Flash and Dreamweaver have emerged as de facto standards for creating interactive learning content captured in SCOs.
