HP-UX Workload Manager Overview

Overview HP-UX Workload Manager, or WLM, is a virtualization solution that helps users realizes the promise of the Adaptive Enterprise. As the goal-based policy engine of the Virtual Server Environment, WLM ties together virtualization techniques including partitioning, resource management, on-demand resources, and clustering, linking them back to business goals and service-level objectives (SLOs). This paper explains the capabilities and benefits of HP-UX WLM version A.02.02, which is available for HP 9000 servers running HP-UX 11.0 or HP-UX 11i v1.0 (B.11.11) and for HP Integrity servers running HP-UX 11i v2.0 (B.11.23).
