Quickoffice Advances Learning Environment While Keeping Costs Low
Overview Consolidated High School District 230 of Orland Park, Illinois is a pioneer in the deployment of handheld computers to students. Nearly 1,700 students and 65 teachers are participating in the program, each equipped with Palm handheld computers and a variety of useful software programs, providing an anytime/anywhere-learning environment unparalleled in the country. The school district has implemented the most ambitious portable computing programs in the nation. Students are given the choice to purchase or lease Palm Powered handhelds from the school district. To enable the students to use the devices for collecting and analyzing data, as well as writing the written portions of their assignments directly on their Palm handhelds, the district has chosen to pre-install Cutting Edge Software's Quickoffice suite.
