SurfinGate for E-Mail

Overview SurfinGate for E-Mail implements the Gateway line of defense for SMTP traffic and perform the same kind of content inspection done by SurfinGate, on E-Mail messages. SurfinShield implements the desktop line of defense. It integrates with the operating system, detecting when mobile code starts to run, monitoring it at run-time, and enforcing the security policy on it. This paper explains the technology and basic architecture of the SurfinGate for E-Mail product, and helps the reader to understand how it works. It starts with an overview of SurfinGate for E-Mail. Then it goes deeper into the technologies used and explains some of the implementation details.
