Mentor Engineering Case Study: Fallon Ambulance Services

Overview Fallon Ambulance Services in Milton, Massachusetts is a privately owned company providing Advanced and Basic Life Support Ambulance Services. It wanted to balance leading edge technologies with the people-oriented values of a venerable 67-year company and to improve service without increasing the size of the fleet. It deployed 125 Mentor Mobile Data Computers (MDCs) equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers and built-in odometer monitors to achieve the goal. As a result, there was a substantial increase in emergency 9-1-1 call responses. The MDCs also have allowed the company to cut costs because the unit per hour utilization has increased.
