Mobile Data Improves Efficiency for Ben Franklin Transit
Overview In 1982, Ben Franklin Transit of Richmond, Washington, has 47 paratransit buses that are all lift-equipped to serve disabled passengers. With their mushrooming growth came the difficult task of managing their voice traffic, this is the very reason they decided to look at using a computerized mobile data system. To accomplish the company used a combination of Trapeze Software's PASS scheduling and routing software and Mentor's Mobile Data Computers (MDC). The result was that Ben Franklin Transit has been able to improve the capability and efficiency of their entire operation.
