Mentor Engineering Case Study: MTA Long Island Bus

Overview Long Island Bus (LI Bus) is part of North America's largest transportation network. The company wanted to move to a paperless environment and, in the process, increase the efficiency and accuracy of the reporting function while simplifying the vehicle location process in an effort to increase traffic and reduce downtime. To accomplish this it deployed 113 MDCs with GPS and odometer monitoring, Trapeze 4-PASS scheduling and routing system and 5-site simulcast EDACS system (Ericsson).
