Tait Radio Communications Case Study: Bundaberg Sugar Queensland, Australia

Overview Bundaberg Sugar Queensland, Australia is one of Australia’s largest sugar milling complexes. The company wanted an efficient communications system to track and manage the complex cane rail network operated by Bundaberg Sugar. To achieve this traffic controllers at Bundaberg Sugar are using a Tait system to optimise the delivery of empty cane wagons to harvest pick-up points and the return of full wagons to its three mills. The Bundaberg Sugar system uses Tait T2000 radios operating through the local Biscom MPT 1327 trucked network and GPS location equipment. This system efficiently manages a complex rail network; it also has increased safety and reduced voice traffic.
