Porting High Performance 3D Games From Pocket PC to Symbian OS
Overview This paper discusses some of the differences involved in implementing high performance 3D games on Symbian OS when porting from Pocket PC, and then goes on to provide some general hints and tips for 3D game programming on mobile phones. Specific reference is made to the techniques used in Interstellar Flames, which does its own software 3D rendering and is available on both Pocket PC and Symbian OS (Series 60 and UIQ). The main areas covered in the first section are generating timer events, handling keys and pointer input.
