J2EE Metadata Cataloging System Expanded to the .NET Framework With Visual J#

Overview LogicLibrary is a leading provider of software and services that help enterprises develop better software applications and integrate them faster. In 2001, LogicLibrary saw the opportunity to expand market share by producing a fully Microsoft .NET-based version of its J2EE-based Logidex solution. LogicLibrary recompiled Logidex using Visual J#. Java code that was not easily supported by J# was reimplemented using the "abstract factory" design pattern. The J# porting strategy gave LogicLibrary quick time-to-market. LogicLibrary also created a Logidex add-in for Visual Studio .NET, making it easier for developers to access the Logidex functionality from within their development environment. The .NET-based version of Logidex has opened up a new and burgeoning market for LogicLibrary while maintaining its investment in existing code.
