Assured Networking Environment: Re-Defining Reliability and Enabling World Class Resiliency for Network Traffic

Overview This paper challenges the current definition of “carrier class” and offers a framework for redefining reliability as carriers undertake the technology evolution to IP/MPLS networks. The first part of this paper examines the requirements for a reliable network that supports new revenue generating services for service providers and provides the stable foundation required for today's enterprise WANs. The second section describes the reliability features available on Marconi's multi service switch routers that can be used to build a highly reliable network supporting profitable services today and into the future.
