PA Consulting Group Case Study: British Airways

Overview British Airways (BA) is the world’s largest international airline, and has a significant IT department which, as a separate entity, would rank as one of the UK's largest software and systems suppliers. Known as Information Management (Im), PA Consulting Group worked with BA's Desktop Services group on a co-ordinated change programme to radically improve performance and achieve substantial cost reductions. Part of this project was a large desktop outsourcing arrangement. Savings of £1 million per annum were realized as a result of the project alongside vast improvements in the group’s service provision to internal BA customers. This was achieved without interruption to the operations of critical functions.
