Capital Management Firm Improves Data Quality While Slashing Costs
Overview To provide a single integrated interface for three disparate line-of-business applications, developers at Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management (NACM) created a custom program using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 and Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1. The solution eliminated the need to manually synchronize three databases, a time-consuming effort that had made it difficult to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the more than 15,000 securities the firm trades around the globe. The solution was delivered on time and under budget. In addition to providing the high-quality internal data that NACM requires, the solution saves the company U.S. $200,000 annually by eliminating redundant data feeds. The solution also has improved the productivity of NACM's Data Management Group by 50 percent.
