Environment Ministry Sets Up National Cartographic Portal
Overview For organisations working on conservation and disaster prevention, monitoring, measuring and managing hydro geological risk is essential. To help these organisations prevent or anticipate floods, landslides and volcanic activity, the Italian Ministry for the Environment has set up the National Cartographic Portal, www.atlanteitaliano.it, to give citizens, businesses and institutions a complete view of the terrain of Italy, supported by maps and diagrams. The solution is based on Microsoft technology.
