Overview ProfitLine has earned a solid reputation for saving organizations money by managing the telecommunications administration life cycle, including reviewing monthly telecom bills for overcharges and other errors - so much so that its IT infrastructure wasn’t keeping up with the company’s growing customer base. Fortunately ProfitLine found that it could develop a more efficient version of its centerpiece application an estimated three times faster using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and the Microsoft .NET Framework than it could using other development platforms it had tried, including environments based on Java 2 Enterprise Edition. The new application, which includes extensive use of .NET-connected services and Message Queuing, makes it 10 to 20 times faster to add a new customer - a process that can involve verifying status of thousands of phone lines.
